Challenges
The house sat at the bottom of a paved cul-de-sac, and every hard rain sent water straight down into the back yard. A sump pump alone couldn't keep up because the real problem was all that surface flow pouring in from above, faster than any pump could clear it.
Outcome
The basement has stayed dry through two full wet seasons now. The owner pulled the sump out after that first spring and hasn't called us back since.
